Sales Producer

The Sales Producer is responsible for generating new business by identifying prospective clients, conducting insurance needs analyses, presenting appropriate coverage solutions, and building long-term client relationships. This position is focused on achieving sales goals while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and customer service. The Sales Producer serves as a trusted advisor, helping individuals, families, and businesses protect their assets through comprehensive insurance solutions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through referrals, networking, prospecting, marketing campaigns, and community involvement.

  • Conduct comprehensive insurance needs assessments to identify client risks and coverage gaps.

  • Develop and present customized insurance solutions that meet clients' needs and budgets.

  • Prepare and present accurate insurance quotes from multiple carriers.

  • Educate clients on policy coverages, exclusions, deductibles, and available options.

  • Follow agency sales processes from initial contact through policy issuance.

  • Meet or exceed established sales, retention, and cross-selling goals.

  • Maintain regular follow-up with prospects and clients to strengthen relationships and generate referrals.

  • Collaborate with agency service staff to ensure a seamless client experience.

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all sales activities and client communications within the agency management system.

  • Stay current on insurance products, carrier guidelines, underwriting requirements, and industry trends.

  • Participate in agency sales meetings, training programs, and continuing education.

  • Represent the agency professionally at networking events, community activities, and business functions.

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with agency policies, carrier requirements, and state insurance regulations.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).

  • Life and Health Insurance License preferred.

  • Previous insurance sales or outside sales experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to develop business relationships and close sales.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency with agency management systems, CRM software, Microsoft Office, and carrier quoting platforms.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily performed in an office environment but may require travel within the local community for client meetings, networking events, and business development activities. The role involves frequent telephone communication, computer use, virtual meetings, and occasional evening or weekend events to support agency growth and client engagement.
